How do I apply for a Mercury bank account?
OtoCo offers a $299 one-time Mercury Bank application service that pre-fills and submits your Mercury application and automatically uploads formation documents for your entity.
Before you apply
- Your OtoCo entity must exist (Delaware or Wyoming Instant / protected series or Standalone LLC, including BYOE)
- An EIN is recommended — the Banking tab will prompt you to add one or Continue without EIN
- A physical address (anywhere — not registered agent) plus proof such as a utility document in a member’s name. You can use Virtual Mailing Address ($249/yr) or your own address where mail can be received. See Mercury Bank Documents.
How to apply
Option A — Banking tab
- Open your entity DashPanel → Banking tab (marked BETA)
- Pay the $299 application fee
- OtoCo pre-fills Mercury and automatically uploads your entity documents
Option B — OtoCo AI Ask in Workbench: "Open a business bank account" or "Apply for Mercury"
What OtoCo attaches
- OtoCo Instant / protected series — Master Certificate of Formation (UI label: Certificate of Formation), Operating Agreement, and EIN letter (when issued). Same packet if a protected series was added later under the same Master. See Mercury Bank Documents.
- Standalone / BYOE — only documents already uploaded (that entity’s state-issued Certificate of Formation, Operating Agreement, EIN letter)
You then complete personal details on Mercury's hosted flow (beneficial owner info, business description).
After submission
Track status on the Banking tab: approved, pending, information_requested, etc. Mercury reviews on its own timeline — usually fast, but not guaranteed.
Best-effort service
The $299 fee covers the application service. Mercury approval is not guaranteed.
